Lilah

Lilah loves the tiny trumpets that make up lilac flowers. She gets to collect a few each spring and if she dries them carefully, they hold their shape and color. There are also whiffs of their ephemeral scent that remain.

Lilah was beside herself in the late summer of 2024, a very rainy warm year, when the lilacs re-bloomed in September. Everyone she talked with agreed that it had never happened before. She collected extras though it was difficult because most of the blooms were at the tops of the shrubs. She enlisted the guys in Cirque du les Petites Branches to use their ladder and climb up to get them for her.
